PROXIMITY READER

Proximity reader restarts again or power light is dim when door opens.
  • Check if both reader and electric lock are sharing the same current
  • Do not share the current with other units or equipments to avoid interference.
  • No action from the lock when the card is sensed.
  • Check the power supply of the unit and if the POWER (red) light of the panel is on.
  • Proximity the card and check OK (green) light. If it is on, check electric lock’s power supply andconnections.
  • Proximity the card and check DENY (yellow) light. It is on when unregistered card is sensed.
  • Continuous proximity. Remove the car from the proximity area and then try again.
  • Check door open mode (set as proximity mode).
  • Wrong format of card or malfunction of card if both OK and DENY lights do not respond at all.
  • System password is entered but unable to enter into various functional selection of the setting mode
  • Incomplete input of system password, please check if correct format “*# XXXX #” (XXXX as system password) has been entered as required in manual.
  • System password has been changed. Inquire reader’s parameter to get the password if it is networking reader. Contact your nearby agent or return to the manufacturer if it is stand-alone reader.
  • Bad wire arrangement which might cause short circuit of the PC board. Check the power supply and the control wires in order to avoid the wires pressing on the PC board causing bad contact, short circuit and interference.
  • Strong interference from other equipments or same type unit caused the new unit is unable to enter Setting Mode or slow response from the keypad. Move the new unit to other place to test again
  • How to stop anti-damage activation or duress alarm activation?
  • Proximity the card and open the door as regular basis again to turn it off.
  • Check the activation of the alarm for security purposes.
  • When the alarm is still on and the network software shows the unit is being tampered which means the anti-tamper switch is not closely mounted onto the wall.
  • Abnormal proximity response from the reader (wrong Beep sound).
  • Check if any unregistered cards nearby.
  • Do not share the current with other readers or equipments to avoid interference.
  • Increase the distance of the readers to avoid interference with each other if there are more than one reader nearby.
  • Reader is unable to read card, no response from the keypad and unable to enter setting mode.
  • Check the power supply or restart it again.
  • Check if diodes are loaded as instructed in the manual if the electric lock is functional after restarting
  • Please contact your nearest agent or return to the manufacturer for testing if all of the above solutions are unable to solve the problem.
  • Unable to find AP-60's IP in ETM program.
  • Check if both computer and AP-60 are at the same segment.
  • Close all firewalls available to prevent blocking of package sending.
  • Try default IP(PING 192.168.10.89) to check if any responses when the above steps are unable to help to find AP-60. If there is a response, enter the default IP to open the setting page using the browser(IE).
  • Check both the wirings between AP-60 and the computer. No gateway is given for the initial setting of AP-60 and user must do the setting at the same segment.
  • Unable to connect with IE even ETM is found.
    Close PROXY SERVER setting.

If virtual IP is available for AP-60.
(a)Either real or virtual IP that is assigned to AP-60 works well and it has to be a fixed IP. A virtual IP
(192.168.xxx.xxx) is normally assigned to AP-60 and user needs to set the IP as a fixed IP in order to detect AP-60 easily. AP-60 also supports DHCP and user needs to set the IP as a fixed or reserved IP.

    Setting real IP.
(a)Use ETM program to set real IP for AP-60 under the same segment and set both Gateway and Submask correctly.

How to use floating real IP (ADSL)?
  • The IP needs to accommodate with IP Router and Dynamic DNS.
  • Apply free dynamic DNS from http://www.dyndns.org or other IP Router which supports Dynamic DNS.
  • Set Dynamic DNS at IP Router.
  • IP Router, therefore, sends a fixed virtual IP to AP-60 and maps the port with AP-60.
  • Add one new communication interface in access control or time attendance software. Enter newly applied Dynamic DNS in the IP column to complete floating IP setting
  • Unable to link with access control or time attendance software when AP-60 isset.
There are three areas to look into the problem such as (1)Device (AP-60 and the reader), (2)Firewall and (3)Software (Access Control System)
  • Check if both AP-60 and readers' communication interfaces are compatible and their switches are at the correct place.
  • Check if both DT+ and DT- wiring are at the correct place
  • Check if both AP-60 power light (blinking) and LAN light (light on).
  • Close all firewalls on the computer and router or open the port (default port as 4444 or 3333).
  • Check if software's reader number and communication interface are selected correctly.
  • Add one new communication interface in access control or time attendance software. Enter newly applied Dynamic DNS in the IP column to complete floating IP setting
  • Types of card.
There are thin card, thick card, and key ring available.
